Call for entries - PMJE 2026
Dear colleagues,
As in previous years, we are launching the procedure that will lead Le Cercle des économistes and Le Monde to award the Prix du Meilleur Jeune Économiste 2026.
The first stage of the process is to identify the talented young economists who are likely to win the prize. In order to enrich the list inherited from previous years, it is particularly important to hear from those of us who are most in contact with young economists.
To this end, please send Damiane Landim(damiane.landim@
cercledeseconomistes.fr ) any suggestions you feel meet our criteria: the target profile is multidimensional, combining intellectual rigor, capacity for innovation and participation in public debate.
Candidates must also be under 41 years of age on March 31, 2026 .This age limit may be waived in cases of maternity or adoption leave (one year per child).
I would also like to draw your attention to the fact that, for the 2025 edition, we received 57 applications, of which 21 were from women, i.e. only 37% of candidates. It is therefore imperative to increase the proportion of women candidates in order to achieve parity.
We would like to receive your proposals by October 31, 2025, so that we can encourage these new applications (deadline for applications: November 15, 2025).
In addition, in its October 11th edition, Le Monde published our call for applications in a specially dedicated double-page spread, available online here.
